Ordering & Payment
How do we order a bed from you?
Simply fill in an order form, or give us a ring.
You can take us much time as you need to decide exactly what it is you want- we won’t rush you, but we will be here to answer any questions you have. We have customers come back months later once they’ve got themselves prepared, so don’t feel contacting us means you’re committing yourselves.
We advise emailing or ringing to discuss the bed you want, and sorting details such as wood and colour. You can either wait on colour samples before ordering, or place the order and they will follow shortly in the post.
How much do we have to pay for the order to begin?
We ask for a third deposit of the total to confirm the order. Once this has been paid your bed will be figured into the production schedule and a more definite delivery date given.
The outstanding balance is to be paid on delivery, or in the case of shipping abroad the total must be cleared before collection of the bed.
What method can we use to pay you?
There are various ways of paying. We accept bank transfer, cheques and debit cards. Credit cards incur a 5% charge.
For your own security we do not accept banker’s drafts.
Please do not email card details to us! We will get the necessary details from you over the telephone, and the transaction will be completed after this (telephone and card machine are on the same line).
Details for bank transfer will be sent (preferably via email) once this method of payment has been decided.
Delivery & Shipping
Do you deliver in the UK?
We will gladly deliver and assemble the beds within the UK, for a charge to cover our costs. You can be sure the bed and accessories will be put up without any problems. If you have any questions while we’re there about caring for your furniture our team will be happy to advise!
If it works out more cost effective we also can arrange a courier service to most of the UK and Ireland. This is more suitable for customers in Ireland and the Highlands as it is usually cheaper. We only pick from trusted companies and, as we wrap the beds before they leave the workshop, you can be assured it will reach you in perfect condition. Of course, we will throw in some assembly instructions- otherwise it can seem like a jigsaw that won’t go together!
How long does delivery take?
We generally give a 12 week period for production of the bed. If the bed is finished before this, then we will contact you to arrange delivery sooner, otherwise we aim to deliver by the 13th week. We try and combine deliveries where possible, so this can affect delivery times, but of course we will gladly discuss your needs and find the best solution for you!
Do you deliver abroad?
Yes, we have shipped furniture, mostly four poster beds, to Europe, Canada, USA…
Antikpete Delivery Service deliver many of our beds within Europe. Robinson’s International have transported beds outside of Europe. All the feedback on both companies has been very positive.
How much does shipping overseas cost?
Please contact us to get a shipping quote, as it is not just what we export and the country we export to, but your exact address that’s important. We have previously shipped to Canada, US, Germany and Spain.
We recommend you talk to Customs in your country to check whether there are taxes on imported furniture. This way you can be aware of all the costs before making a decision- it’s not something you want to find out about when it’s too late!
Do the beds come apart for ease of shipping?
These four poster beds ‘breakdown’ into sensible sized components for ‘flat packing’ which help keep the shipping costs to a minimum.
Are the beds easy to assemble?
They are easier than you would think, but we will gladly put the beds together for you when we deliver in the UK. Assembly Instructions that are easy to understand are sent with our beds shipped overseas.
