We can offer solid wood slats or a sprung or platform/solid 4″ firm edge bed base on which your mattress can rest.

Pricing for the mattress support is not included in our bed frame prices. This is because we can make around your existing divan/base and mattress, which is a perfect solution if there is still plenty of life in your current set.

The bed bases provide additional even support and comfort for a pocket sprung mattress. They are specially designed to fit into our wooden beds, with rounded corners to avoid the posts. These bed bases are also made using kiln dried timber from sustainable forests!

The sprung 4″ bed base is a traditionally cone sprung four inch firm edge base, similar to the top part of a divan base. The platform 4″ bed base is made in a similar way, but it comes with a solid top surface. It gives a firmer feel to the mattress than the sprung bed base.

We also offer solid wood slats, which give a firmer feel from the bed base. Slats are only available to customers purchasing one of our beds, and are not recommended if a pocket sprung mattress is being used. If you would prefer as firm a support as possible, we would suggest a platform top bed base for use with a pocket sprung (or memory foam) mattress.
