Stains and Finishes
Working closely with customers our oak range has evolved into a very popular hand planed, 'olde oak' look.
Stains
You have a choice of two standard colours, a rich dark oak (stain A), and a medium oak (stain B), suiting most clients.
However, if you wish your bed to be a another colour, perhaps to fit in with existing furniture, our polisher can produce a colour match.
Below shows you an example of the standard colour stains on Oak. Wood, whether it is the same type and even from the same tree, can vary in colour, so we prefer to send you colour samples until you have the colour that you like. Unstained wood (natural polish) is becoming more popular and will make a more traditional bed design look more modern.

Finishes
We can give your bed a Smooth and Hand Planed Finish. The Hand Planed finish gives a slightly more traditional look and it is lovely to touch with its unevened surfaces. The smooth finish gives a clean look, though more difficult to hide any scratches you may make, and suits a bed with a slightly more contemporary feel.
We had a customer who wanted quite a olde Oak Beam look with knots, giving a lovely amount of character to the bed. Below is an example of what is possible using this finish:
