The Four Poster Bed Company

We are a small company, based in rural Herefordshire. If you would like to visit our workshop and small showroom please find more details on the page, How To Find Us. Our showroom has a small selection of four poster beds and bedside tables. You can also see a large selection of photos taken of furniture carefully created for other customers.

We make and supply a wide range of solid wood four poster beds, pencil post beds, low beds and other furniture. All items are made to order (bar items shown on our Shorter Lead Time page), so the furniture can be made to suit your exact requirements. Our aim is to provide you with a high quality piece of furniture that will last for generations to come, as well as offering excellent customer service.

We are happy to work with you to help develop a more unique piece of furniture, and have much experience in this regard.

If you are working on a larger scale project, such as a hotel development, please do not hesitate to contact us. We have experience working with interior designers, architects and procurement agents.

Stephen Edwards

Stephen brings together a team of British craftsmen, dedicated to giving you unsurpassed craftsmanship. Attention to detail is vital from hand selecting your wood, quality of construction, to polishing your family heirloom with love and care.

Stephen grew up on a Herefordshire farm on the Welsh border and now has a extensive workshop at his home. He finished college as top student nationally, after studying the City and Guilds furniture making course.

After years of furniture making, Stephen started developing a simple four poster bed, combining modern fittings with traditional craftsmanship, designing the bed for strength and easy assembly. The Open Four Poster Bed was created. He then took the design a stage further adding a fully panelled back and roof called the Lyons Hall Four Poster Bed. We have since added various designs for panels and a range of posts, creating an extensive range of beautifully crafted four poster beds. Some clients have asked for a simplified four poster bed, costing less, suitable for hotels, bed and breakfast, holiday homes. We call this the Juniper Four Poster Bed.
